Do You Know Your Target Market

If you’re someone who struggles a lot with target market, then this post could really help to give you some clarity!

It’s absolutely critical to know who your target market are so you know how to help and serve then best and don’t spread your wings too thin. Trying to be an expert in every niche or market, will make you an expert at nothing!

Lets look at how to find your target market:

1: Who do you want to work with? Are you mindful of the type of people you are attracting? Are those the people you would want to actually work with and hang out with regularly.

Write down a list that goes through the type of person you want to target and attract. What do they look like, how do they act, how do they portray themselves, are they like-minded to you etc.

2: How will you help that person? What kind of content will you create for them? what problems will you solve?

If you put some steps in place for your target market, even before you 100% know who that target is, you will  learn your exact target as you go along, and really start being able to action.

Most people go and try to find “what works” for others and follow the leader. This will not serve you well, the people have to be congruent and valuable to YOU. Don’t target someone because you see its working for someone else, you will end up with very low productivity for yourself.

With consistency, anything works!! So start writing down for yourself the “WHO/WHAT” questions and then the “HOW” questions. Lets look at those now:

  • Who are your dream clients?
  • What do they look like?
  • What are they passionate about?
  • What are their goals, dream and desires?
  • How are you going to serve them?
  • How are you going to solve their problems?
  • How are you going to help them out?

I highly suggest having these written down somewhere you see it all the time. Take 30-60Mins only to write down, work out and complete these questions. Then, each day, or every few days, keep going over the answers you wrote and start to really visualise who that person and target market will be. This will not only serve you well and give you loads of clarity, but you will start to really enjoy meeting these people and making all the new connections you make with people who are totally like-minded and similar to what you have mapped out as your target market.

Also on a daily/weekly basis, start producing content and do videos etc and share that to your target market. Doing this will make you more crystal clear on that target market and you can then nail it and serve them in every way. How dang amazing will that be right!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO TAKE AWAY HERE IS: Don’t think you have to wait till you have that target nailed perfectly before then providing value. If you do that, you will lose valuable time and money. GET TO WORK, and keep taking daily action, and over time you will start to get more clarity and direction with your target market.
