Facebook Prospecting
In today’s video I share with you some simple ways of how you can quickly connect with a prospect for the first time on Facebook.
We need to respect our prospects by connecting with them professionally and correctly in order for them to want to open up to us enough to connect back and start building the relationship further.
I also feel that if we want to find people to connect with, make sure they seem to be the type of person you would also connect with face to face (offline)….just adding numbers to your friends list isn’t going about it the correct way and you may end up adding people who really aren’t someone who has any similarities to you, which could quite possible end up being a very negative or unlike-able person (protect yourself and be choosy with who you select as your Facebook friends for your own privacy and protection).
Look at the prospects profile, check out their photos and “about” section and if they seem like-minded to you or have similar interests, then that’s a great way to open up the conversation and ask questions about those similar interests etc.
Ask permission to add your prospects as a “friend”, I don’t feel that sending a “friend request” without asking first is showing professionalism and posture for yourself…..but if you would like to “follow” the person without having to “friend” them, then that is a great way to be able to keep in touch with their news feed and movements.
“Check out their profile to see if they have the “follow” button activated, it’s a very effective tool so make sure yours is activated as well”!
In this video I discuss the quickest and simplest way that I use Facebook to make new connections, friends and build strong relationships. Check It Out!
One key step I have found is…when your contacting someone for the first time, why not share a small snippet of information about yourself first! This is a great ice-breaker and makes the prospects far more open to share something about themselves as well.
