What this phrase – “if I, would you” does, is it puts you in a position of strength and in control of the situation and conversation (very important).

By using this phrase, you haven’t actually said your going to give them something at all YET- you are more saying “if I decide to give you this gift, would you take it”?

It is a much more open-ended question and softer approach. We as humans are programmed to respond positively to people who give us things first or offer something to us first, and that way we are more inclined to be receptacle to answering with a YES.

We can use this approach when dealing with prospect, with business partners and in everyday life, so the more we say it and put it into action, it will soon become a habit and something that becomes very much apart of our vocabulary.
